The Cambridge Store opened in 1985 . It is located in the old Dominion Woollens Factory. This factory was the largest textile mill in the British Empire. In the first two decades of the last century almost every family in Hespeler had at least one family member working at the mill
It is not uncommon for a customer to say, “l use to work in these building years ago” or they knew someone who did, or to just be in awe at the structure of the beams.
Our customers come from as far north as Sudbury to the east side of Toronto. We are told that there is no store that can compare to our selection and prices. It is well worth the drive.
This location has 2 floors approximately 18000 sq. ft. per floor, packed full of savings.
On the main floor we have a variety of linens, home décor items, picture frames, groceries, including a small section of Health Foods and supplements. We now carry a beautiful selection of ready made drapes and sheers, luxurious table décor, bedding and a quality kitchen line of pots, pans and gadgets. Memory foam bed toppers and foam slabs or squares are available in many sizes.
Our clothing department offers the latest fashions for everyone. Our ladies clothing fashions size ranges from 4 to size 24. Men’s fashions available up to size 3xxl and children’s newborn to 6x, with the exception of some items in larger sizes.
Our yarn and craft departments are now located on the main floor for easy access. Our selection is the largest in the area, Customers rave at how we carry the full colour range of yarn, unlike our competitor stores who pick and choose their colours limiting the selection to the customer. We have a fun line of kid’s crafts available which is great for birthday parties.
Our Scrap booking selection is enormous. You will find stickers, papers, cardstock, cutters, embellishments, stamps, accessories and much more.
On the lower level we have a tremendous selection of cotton quilting prints, home decor fabrics, and fashion fabrics. We carry pool table felt, marine vinyl, and UV grade clear plastics. We stock over 48 shades of upholstery vinyls. Our vast selection of fashion knits include; spandex, panne, velour’s, sequin knits, and so much more all at reasonable prices. We carry an abundant selection of notions, trims and, accessories to finish your special project.
We can accommodate wheel chairs to the lower level during the hours of 10-3 from Monday to Saturday
Our staff is friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help you with your special project. If we do not have it includes stock we will do our best to find it for you. We also offer a special order service for specialty fabrics; which includes Sunbrella ®, marine topping, deck master marine carpeting, foam slabs, squares, or shapes and much more.
