Len's Mill Store Guelph
Guelph was the home of the first cable TV system, the hockey term” Hat Trick”, the jock strap, the wire coat hanger and Colonel John McCrae’s poem “In Flanders Field”. At one time both sewing machines and pianos were built in this town.
In May 1976 the Guelph store opened in a century-old former knitting mill, complete with huge wooden beams. Many of our customers comment on how they use to work here during the war and operate spinning machines. The name Len’s Mill Store was painted on the smoke stack of the building and was often used to give directions to find us.
In 2001 Len’s moved from the three story building to a newer one story building of 47,000 sq. ft. allowing us to expand your shopping pleasure for the whole family. Our new store features one level shopping that is easily wheelchair accessible. Entering our front door puts you in sight of the grocery, gardening, house wares and clothing department. We carry clothing for the entire family and have a sock department like no other in the area. Visit our card and party supply departments for you next gathering.
Don’t forget to check out the craft and scrap booking departments, from candles to albums and every thing in between. Try your hand at needlework to picture framing. We have a fabric department that caters to everyone. It boasts row upon row of fabrics, including your fabric needs from quilting thru clothing making including bridal to upholstery. We have an area dedicated to foam and pillow forms to complete your upholstery needs. We are known for our selection of quilt and upholstery batting. We try to cover all the details with trims, laces and notions to satisfy you’re every need.
In our yarn department we carry an array of yarns. There are several brands with a great selection of weights and colours to choose from. We also carry a good selection of patterns, needles and knitting notions. Be sure to visit and explore a new knitting project soon.
